WHAT WE DO

Support built around the young person.

Beneath Behaviour provides bespoke support rather than delivering the same intervention programme to every young person. We begin with curiosity about the individual, their context and what may make engagement possible.

Engagement with Education

Rebuilding routine, trust, motivation and a sense of possibility around education for young people finding conventional settings difficult to access.

Emotional Regulation

Developing awareness of emotions, triggers and physiological responses, alongside practical ways to manage distress, anger and overwhelm.

Behavioural Understanding

Exploring behaviour in context, including its possible function and the environmental, emotional and relational factors influencing it.

Anxiety and Avoidance

Understanding patterns of avoidance and supporting confidence, emotional literacy and practical coping approaches where appropriate.

Relationships and Trust

Creating a consistent, psychologically safe relationship in which communication, boundaries and healthier ways of relating can be practised.

Confidence and Identity

Recognising strengths and building an identity that extends beyond difficulties, diagnoses, exclusions or past experiences.

Sometimes the best conversations don’t happen across a table.

Gym, sport, cooking, creative work, community activity and practical projects can lower interpersonal pressure and create real-life opportunities to practise emotional regulation, communication, confidence and problem solving. The activity is not the intervention by itself; it is a purposeful context for psychologically informed work.
