Benjamin Hookway

Founder & Director

Benjamin has a First-Class BSc in Psychology from the University of Lincoln, where his dissertation achieved 85%, followed by postgraduate study in Neuroimaging for Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Manchester. He works clinically as an NHS Assistant Psychologist within children and young people’s services, with experience of working psychologically alongside young people presenting with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. Beneath Behaviour was developed to bridge the space between traditional mentoring and psychologically informed intervention.

“I don’t want us to simply ask how we stop a young person’s behaviour. I want us to understand why it might be happening in the first place, what it is communicating, and what that young person actually needs from the adults around them.”
